Clumber Spaniels are steady and quiet and usually adapt well to city life. These dogs have a tendency to be lazy and gain weight, so regular exercise is a must. Clumber Spaniels usually form a strong bond with one person, but they get along well with children and other pets. These dogs are too calm to be playful.
Clumber Spaniels are sporting dogs. Sporting dogs are active and alert and require daily exercise. Because they have superior instincts in the water and woods, sporting dogs are often used for hunting. If exercised and properly trained, most sporting dogs make excellent pets. However, some of these dogs like to bark and whine a lot, so they're not suited for apartment life.
Coat:
Soft with longer hair on chest, stomach, legs and tail.
Colors:
Mostly white with orange or lemon markings on the ears, around the eyes, and near the tail. Freckles on muzzle and front legs. Eyes are amber. Nose can be brown, beige or rose.
Special considerations:
Clumber Spaniels are terrific dogs, but they're tough to find.
