July 12, 2010 -
If you’ve been in your local PetSmart store lately, you may have noticed some changes in the Reptile section. I caught up with Specialty Marketing Manager, Chris Boglio, to find out what’s changed and why the new Reptile section is better than ever.
Julie (J)- What changes have been made to the reptile department?
Chris Boglio (CB)- There are 3 major improvements to our reptile department. First we changed the aisle layout to make it easier to shop. Secondly, we increased our product assortment by over 140 new products. Third, we created educational information in each section to help customers get started on the right path. The signage makes “Terrarium set-up as easy as 1, 2, 3”. We’ve also added useful tips on caring and feed your reptile to our website. Just go to PetSmart.com and search reptile.
J- Are there new products that Pet Parents can expect to see in their local store?
CB- We brought in a whole new line of terrarium kits, lighting, and bedding/substrates. We brought in a line of startup kit from All Living Things. These kits have all the startup essentials (lighting, heating, decor, etc.) you need to have a successful setup.
J- I noticed the startup kits when I was in the store yesterday. They look really nice. Are there any special offers for our PetPerks members?
CB- PetPerks members can save up to 20% on all Terrariums. There are also savings throughout the entire department so if you are thinking about getting a reptile; this would be the best time. All snakes, chameleons, geckos, turtles, tortoises, and Chinese water dragons are 30% off.
Although the sale ends July 26, the changes to the Reptile department are permanent and we can’t wait to know what you think. Have you been to the “Bigger, Badder,” Reptile department at your local PetSmart? Tell me about your experience below!
