Hello, I got my dog Molly (black lab) over the summer and she was already 5 months old, she is now roughly a year old but still play bites all the time. She especially likes biting your pant legs while you are trying to walk and no matter what I do I can't get her to stop biting and when I try she gets into a stance and starts barking. I really need help trying to stop this problem because my mom is threatening to get rid of her and I really have grown attached to her even though she bites and barks at me. If someone new some way to help stop it that would be great because I would really like to keep her.

My dog used to do this. I think having a puppy under a year old can be chalenging. It will get better. My vet told me to say stop and no in a firm voice ever time she did it. Never yell at the dog. Be consistent at it. Another thing I notice I cannot pet her by putting my hand over her head. She wants to hold my arm. I have to pet her by under the chin and then make my way up. Also try to get at the dogs level. Lower yourself when you want to pet it. It doesn't feel threaten then by you coming by the top. When the dogs feel safe. It won't want to bite and bark. Good Luck!

My dog did and still does the same thing. But she is improving. If she bites you stop what ever you are doing fold your arms and turn around and ignore her Until she calms down and you can praise her, Or another way you could do it is if you bites you too hard you can say ouch in a high voice and stop playing or walking. when they were pups even ever they are playing and one bites too hard the other will yelp saying stop, You puppy might learn this way.
