I adopted a 2-year-old Basset Hound from my local humane society this week... she was spayed yesterday afternoon and came home this morning. She is a great dog, but I'm having one major problem - I take her out for walks frequently and wait until she pees, but as soon as we get back inside, she runs and pees on the carpet somewhere. Is this normal for Bassets? For recently spayed dogs? For recently adopted dogs? I've had dogs in the past, but they were always bigger dogs (Lab and Akita) and were already altered when they were adopted. I took her to the vet this afternoon for a checkup because she had bloody stool and they gave me antibiotics and a dewormer, but didn't have much to say about the peeing inside. Does anyone have any advice? I've never had house training issues before, so I'm not sure what to do. Thanks!
