Does anyone participate in agility with their small breed? How did you get involved, and what are some of the considerations?

You can also go to agility trials in your area and talk to the handlers to see which training classes they recommend.

Here is also a very interesting messageboard for agility lovers. It's packed with great information about how to get started: http://www.i-love-dogs.com/forums/dog-sports-agility/

Agility is a great way to get fit with your pet while having fun at the same time. The best way to get started is to learn more about the sport at http://www.usdaa.com/. Then, google-search for agility training courses in your area. I found three different places that offered agility in Phoenix. I chose the one that was closest to where I live. I hope this helps!

I would also like to do this with my 2 year old shih tzu who is about 2 pounds overweight. Have you heard back how to get started yet?
