Although we no longer have any dogs, the idea of having a designated digging area in your yard works great. We had a series of dogs over a 20 year period who had been in a variety of stressful situations prior to living with us; they ALL dug to relieve stress! When we were introduced to this idea, we were astounded at how WELL it worked. After we trained one dog to dig in "the digging spot", they would train one another. They would then leave the rest of the yard alone, and would dig to their hearts' content!
