If your pet could talk

Ever wish you could break the 'code' and know what your pet is trying to tell you? Does a wagging tail mean your pet is feeling friendly? We've worked with Dr. Suzanne Hetts, a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist and Dr. Robyn Jaynes, PetSmart's resident veterinarian and pet care expert, to help you, the pet parents, recognize and understand your pet's communication behaviors.

Digging

My 1 year old Blue Heeler/Jindo is digging and we cant seem to get her to stop. Need suggestions on how to get her to stop.

1st time dog owner- PLEASE HELP!

I have a 9wk old Yorkie female, cute as a button- my very first pet. She's so tiny, half the time I can't find her. Here's my problem...I work 3-11 and am having a hard time keeping things consistant- which I've read is very important. She's been having accidents all over the apartment, even though I have potty pads laid out, sprays to clean them up, and sprays to help attract her to the pads. It's been very rainy lately, but when it stops, I do try and take her outside.

Choosing a training class?

I have a young aussie puppy who already knows sit and lie down (learned it in a day) now we just need to learn stay and come. However I would like to sign up for a petsmart training class but don't know what class to choose, since she knows most of whats in puppy ed and beginner. I was thinking about intermediate but she's only 11 weeks old. However 'I don't want to shell out $109 for a 6 week class where she knows half of it already. I don't have alot of money to take all the classes and my pup learns really quick.

tearing up couch and chairs and anything in sight

We just got a 4 yr old Boston Terrier that was caged and not fixed, the owner negelected to tell us why his wife didn't want the dog in the house, well I think we found out why.Torn holes in chair cushions, couch cushions, tore up the mop, tore bedspread, sexually attacks the cushions,HELP.Will having the dog fixed cure him of the biting the cushions and rambunchious behavior, don't want to spend a lot of money on him and still have the wild behavior.

Potty Time!

I have to babies, both dogs. My 11 month old male Pug and my 9 month old female Boston Terrier. I just got my female from a breeder and she is not potty trained.(I've had her for at least two weeks and she is also in training classes at PetSmart) I am still in shock that she was never potty trained. But I guess I understand since she lived on a farm. Well I am in an apartment on the second floor and I have a large grassy areas around my apartment where the dogs are welcome to "go". There are even potty bags stations to promote clean up.

New Dog Owner

I adopted a 1-year-old Border Collie mix recently. She is housebroken and stays in a crate while I am at work; however, when I'm home she's out free in the house. If I turn my back on her for a minute, even just to go to the bathroom, she finds something to get into--she'll pull the trash out of my office trash can, she'll get in the litter box and eat the cat litter, etc. I've tried to tell her no firmly when I catch her doing this, but usually by the time I get out of the bathroom or back from getting the mail, she's already shredded some papers and has moved on to doing something else.

Socializing Locally

Savannah Ga
I have a new 8wk old puppy that I want to meet other like minded ppl and pets to let the puppies play and be social in the Savannah Metro area maybe downtown or at the parks
he is going to be a large dog
( cane Corso Italiano , Italian Mastiff)
